What is a Tickd project?
A project is a collaborative body of work within the Tickd application. A project contains Milestones and Tickets.
All you need to do is give your project a name and a logical name to be used throughout Tickd and you'll be automatically assigned to any projects you create as a manager.
When you create your account, we provide you with a sample project to get you started.
When you log into Tickd, you are taken to the dashboard where you can see the projects either created by you as an administrator/manager, or assigned to you by an administrator/manager.
You can order the projects here alphabetically (default), by project activity (most recent first), or you can customise the order specifically for you.
Each project widget tells you how many open tickets there are, the date of the last activity on that project, and using a background activity bar chart, indicate the levels of activity.
Follow a project
If you want to receive notifications for all project activity on tickets and milestones by you or other members of the project team, you can do this from the left "Projects Following" menu on the dashboard page. Select projects you want to receive notifications from.
This is ideal for project managers who aren't necessarily involved with every ticket of work, but want to see everything going on from a top level so they can keep an eye out for delays, confusion, successful tasks or other similar high or low points within the project.
When you click on any of the project widgets you drill down into the project view for more information. The project specific activity is available on the right.
Lets take you through the main areas of this view.
Each milestone is in a helpful box with the date it is due (colour coded for on track or overdue), the number of tickets in the milestone and a progress indicator along the bottom to show how close the milestone goal is to completion.
While tickets do not need to be part of a milestone, it can help organise priority sets of work items and show their progress more clearly.
This section shows you a breakdown of tickets by priority, by status and by tag so you are just one click away from seeing the tickets that matter to you.
Finally you can see the members of the project team and the ticket count assigned to them specifically, click a box to see further ticket details.
View closed tickets
If you want to see tickets closed for this project, a link "closed" is available. Tickd considers Closed tickets no longer relevant so the remaining links and breakdowns will only apply to open tickets on this project.

Create a ticket

When you first create a project you may have a large amount of tickets you wish to input and assign. To make this easy for you use the project planner page. It allows you to input milestones and tickets in one handy form.
Add as many milestones or tickets as you wish. Remember, a ticket does not have to be included in a milestone.
Creating projects are permitted by administrators only. Everything you need can be found in your "Admin" section.
Create a project
Click the plus (+) icon on the top right, and give your project a name and a URI name The URI, we use for permanent link assistance throughout Tickd. Some rules apply but don't worry, we will take out anything not permitted.
Allow a project to receive incoming email
If you want to allow your project to receive and interpret email this can be done on the next section "Settings". When an email comes into your inbox, it will be from a unique project Tickd email, and when you reply a note will be created with your body.
Set auto-tag on a project
If would like all tickets within a project to have the same label/tag you can set this up on the "Auto Tag" tab.
If the Auto Tag is set for a project, the tag will be added to all tickets newly created in that project from this point forwards. The tag will not be automatically added to existing tickets or tickets moved from other projects.
Grant a user project access
To allow you to do everything in one go, the final section "Users" will allow you to choose from existing users under your account and the roles you want them to play within the project.
Remove a user from a project
If you later decide that a user should be removed from a project, perhaps they have left the company, or have moved to another team, you can do that by choosing "No Access"
Update a project
Some options appear as extra, once you have saved your initial project information.
Set a default assigned user and milestone for a project
If a default milestone is set for a project, tickets created for that project will have the milestone set as the default value. Note that if you create a ticket on the milestone page, the default value will be that milestone and not the project default.
Status Group cannot be changed after the project is created.
Close a project
If you would like to close a project, do this in the "Status" tab
Delete a project
Perhaps you've made a mistake and you would like to completely remove a project. This is possible but you won't be permitted to delete a project if that project has open assigned tickets. Please close the tickets or move them to another project.
Please note: Choosing to delete a project is irreversable.
Create a new user and assign to project

Add a custom field to the project
You can add custom fields to a project via the menu option on the left "Custom Fields"
Choose a relevant name for your field and the datatype you are expecting. Each field will be available on the ticket

Remove a custom field on a project
Before deleting a custom field, be aware that it an irreversible action. The custom field and all the data associated with it will be permanently deleted.
You will be asked if you are sure before committing to the removal of the field.
